Reality Or Political Fundraising At It’s Best

I want to believe this pipe dream presidential dual between Condi and Hillary is a BIG DEAL and not just some buzz filler for the media. But I’m a realist (unfortunately for some of you). For me, the glass is not just half full or half empty. It’s both. Right? Right??

Yet the mindless masses, who have abandoned their duty to question the status quo, refuse to consider points from multiple sides. They like their view just the way it is…through trusted horse blinders handed down from generation to generation. This is precisely why our two-party system has dominated for hundreds of years. Of course deep pockets don’t hurt either! And don’t hand me that B.S. about “if you can find a better country than the U.S.A. pack up and go there.” …No thanks. I prefer to stay and fix this mess, so my kids won’t have to pay more than they already have.

Sorry, I got off message…well sort of. So the only reason we’re even debating the prospect of having two women running for president, is because up until now, the “us versus them” mentality would not permit it. But society is slowly warming up to this notion of a woman commander-in-chief. My gut tells me this has more to do with shock and awe, not acceptance and tolerance. Think dollars too people. If you want to jump into this political dead pool, you MUST use the almighty dollar as your reference point. It is this country’s true North…

This potential race could be a cash cow for Dems and Repubs for years to come. Hell, we’ve just about exhausted everyway possible to sell the American public on why they should vote for the better of the two opposing white, male, wealthy, politically and commercially connected candidates. In fact, studies show the X and Y Generations are tuning out in record numbers.

So here comes the latest marketing pitch to galvanize the country.

How about these slogans:

• Black Woman vs. White Woman in 08.
• Bitter Black Woman vs. Bitter White Woman in 08.
• The Moms will be working late Pops…you cook the dinner in 08!
• Liberal Smoke Screening vs. Passionate Big Brothering!

Let’s face it. A more realistic outcome will involve either Hillary or Condi being selected as Vice President for their respective parties in 2008. Then they’ll have the privilege of being scrutinized for the next 4 years like no other VP in history. Think Supreme Court nomination hearings, but EVERY DAY!!!
